Sprintcars Tasmania held it annual awards night and dinner at the Launceston Country club Casino on Saturday night, The main banquet room was filled to overflowing with more than 200 people in attendance. The night was a fitting finale to the 2008-2009 season.

This year 28 local drivers took part in a very busy season of racing. Major awards were won by Jason Dawkins for the Drivers Driver which was voted on by all drivers on the night, Margie Bricknell for club person of the year, Chris House was awarded the Rookie of the year, The Club Pointscore went to Jason Dawkins 1st Jamie Bricknell 2nd and Malcolm Lee 3rd.
Anthony Johns was picked up Crew Chief of the Year for his outstanding effort with House Bros racing.
Phil Dickenson was awarded life membership for his 15 years of service to club.
